O Miradouro do Socorro, fica situado na Zona Velha da cidade do Funchal. Dai é possível se avistar o porto do Funchal, o complexo balnear da Barreirinha, as ilhas Desertas e toda a costa até ao Garajau. Aqui perto fica a Igreja de S. Tiago ou mais conhecida por Igreja do Socorro. A sua edificação está ligada a um voto feito pela população do Funchal em 1523 devido a um surto de peste. No século XVII efectuaram-se novas e importantes reparações. Foi totalmente demolida em 1752, para aí se erguer uma nova e maior igreja, cujas obras se concluíram em 1768 .
